Well the next stage has now been reached, I have made contact with both the Finland Prison Service and the Correctional Service Canada. Both seem quite happy to help, get me organised for the trip. Now I need to decide on the locations to visit. The main Helsinki area seems like the main option for Finland however I have been told of a very interesting Prison on the far eastern side of Finland which I am going to research further. The Frazer Valley seems to be the main area for Vancouver and Victoria Island. Loads of good work going on there. I spoke with my bosses this week and they seem very supportive so I need to apply for the time off now as well. Took a bit of research into the civil service code but I now know what exactly to apply for.
